Fellow members,

We have added an Ask an Appraiser section to the Rio Grande website at www.ai-riogrande.org. If this section grows it can become a useful connection to Realtors and the public. It is also a visible way to share what we know.

How it works.

1)      Member blogs. Any member may post a blog on a topic of their choosing. When you post you may set the piece as members only or public. Members only are a good place for shop talk. Public posts are a chance to educate clients, lenders, Realtors and others who look to the chapter for valuable information. You will notice I have already sent though a test Q & A blog.

2)      Questions from the public. Members may also respond to questions from the public. If you want to take part in this contact me and I will add you to the list of members who receive those emails. You are not required to answer questions. Reply to a question when the topic is of interest and you have time to give a useful professional answer.  Some of us only intend to answer one question a month.

A few ground rules. 

1)      Keep public answers general and educational. Do not provide an opinion of value.

2)      Write in a tone that reflects well on the chapter and the Appraisal Institute.

3)      If a question is better handled as paid work, say so and invite the person to hire a qualified appraiser.
